20th – 24th October 2015
I planned our Bali itinerary with tips and references from some friends who just returned from their trip,
a lot of internet research, combining tripadvisor for true traveler’s images and agoda/booking sites for our accommodation.
We got the flight tickets during a promotional sale in May
$272 for 2 via Jetstar
Hugs and kisses for Trevie before we left for the Airport
Thankful for my family’s help with Trev while we were away!
Arrived at Denpasar after a 2h45m flight
Met our guide/driver at the airport (still the same cute guy, he’s the best)
will share more about the guide later
He drove us to a few shops to get a sim card at the lowest cost (fml i cant remember how much)
to help us save unnecessary costs
cuz a few stores wanted to charge exorbitant prices upon seeing a foreign sim card
Then he brought us to have Lunch at Kuta
Jalan Sunset Road Boulevard
Love the ambience!
Dined within the wooden gazebo
Our guide Ketut enthusiastically suggested to snap pictures of us
This, I REALLY LIKE ABOUT HIM hahahaha
More about that later on
Ordered a half rack pork rib 135k Rupiah (14SGD)
Really tender! Loved it!
Crispy Pata 160k Rupiah (16+SGD)
We shouldn’t have ordered this cuz the fats were a bit overwhelming
Waitress recommended Plecing Kangkung Lombok
25k Rupiah (2.60SGD)
Not really fond of the taste and was too spicy.
But overall great ambience to dine at. Succulent pork ribs so still pretty worth it!
Took a drive up to Tanah Lot Temple right after lunch!
Entrance fee to enter Tanah Lot was 30,000 Rupiah per person (3SGD)
Blown away by the massive waves and view!
You’re gonna see a spam of couple shots in the entire post
Our guide went like 1, 2, 3, & 3, 2, 1 angle high medium low
and just went snapping away for us
telling us where to sit where to stand where to pose
I love the ALLLLL the pictures he took for us
He even got praises from other passer-bys that he’s a really dedicated guide/photographer ^^
Love this candid shot
There!!! Our guide in Bali!
also the same guide from my 1st Bali trip
Bear with me for including almost ALL of our pictures
I’d want to have it all uploaded on my blog as a storage platform heehee
Guide told us to pose LOL
My flip hair moment
We were like obsessed with taking photos of the mossy ground
With the sun almost setting
Left Tanah Lot and took a drive back to Kuta
Checked-in to our 1st hotel in Bali!
The Kuta Beach Heritage HotelJl. Pantai Kuta, Br. Pande Mas, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia 80361
2 nights accommodation at $273.50
Booked via Agoda
Didn’t take much pictures of the room to share + it was already dark
But I highly recommend this hotel!
1. Conveniently located in the heart of Kuta, close to plenty of fast food outlets, restaurants, convenience stores
2. Short walk to Waterbom Park & Discovery Mall
3. Huge comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom
4. Balcony opens up to a linked indoor pool (linked meaning shared pool with the other guests on the same level)
But we were barely in the room during the day throughout our 2 nights stay
Really, best location + Kuta beach is just opposite the hotel
Hard Rock Cafe just beside our hotel
Walked to Discovery Mall to discover HAHAHA
Ate at A&W wtf i know and its eeek zzz
SO MUCH FOOD CHOICES ALONG KUTA like
Jamie Olivers, Flapjacks, Bubba Gump, Hog Wild etc etc but I…. A&W
Got up as early as 6ish cuz my standard operating procedure SOP need 1 hour to prepare
Had to meet our Ketut at 8am at the hotel lobby for our full day 2!
Tried the hotel breakfast for 1 day cuz it’d be too rush to get breakfast elsewhere
96,000 Rupiah (10SGD) per pax
Breakfast variety average. Taste wise hmmm. I’d say get breakfast elsewhere
Breakfast was at the rooftop pool area
Looks really relaxing and great for lounging (but we didn’t make use of the pool throughout our stay)
Day 2 was a FULL DAY with Ketut
My itinerary (which I will be sharing at the end of the post)
included white water rafting.
I’ve been to the one at Ubud’s Ayung River the previous trip
and found river currents quite mild (not exhilarating enough)
+ THE STAIRS WE HAD TO CLIMB BEFORE AND AT THE END OF THE RAFTING JOURNEY
left a deep muscle wrenching memory in my mind.
Didn’t want to climb so much stairs
SO i suggested we go to the one at Telaga Waja where there will be a 4metres drop towards the end of the journey
read it online that its way more exciting
plus point is there won’t be a crazy amount of stairs to climb
(YAAAS thats what I kept emphasizing when I asked the guide about the stairs)
The drive up was a LOOOOONG one
Got quite jammed up so we only managed to reach Telaga Waja at 10ish
Almost a 2 hours long journey
Beautiful fields and greenery
White water rafting with ALAM amazing adventures
Would have cost me so much more if i had booked the rafting package online
My advice is to get a driver/guide as a middle person
They can get special rates!
Don’t want to spoil any market so I’m not gonna publish the rafting price
One of the better rafting companies for white water rafting at Telaga Waja
Professional guides! Felt safe under their care
Stairs/ steep steps are still unavoidable LOLOL
We were briefed on the commands and journey.
It’d be a 16KM rafting journey which takes 2.5 hours to complete.
We would pass by some bamboo bridges and waterfalls along the journey
and lastly a 4 metres high drop at Bajing Dam
Was able to experience and see quite a few waterfalls along the way
Not even halfway through the rafting journey,
We met with a frightening yet comical, it-could-have-gone-really-wrong incident
We “crashed” into another stationary raft
The guide commanded us the code HIGH SIDE
meaning those on the lower side must quickly move to the high side to balance out the raft
TO PREVENT A CAPSIZE.
Cuz if you capsize the currents won’t stop and wait for you leh
they just wash you away
See our guide immediately lean towards the high side
But the GUYS on our raft, including Alex and another guy whom we got paired with
reacted slow. You see I’m already climbing on the high side for my dear life HAHAHAHA
With the imbalanced weight + ongoing currents
it was only a matter of time before the raft capsized
& it happened real quick
For a moment it was like BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP
I went under and got swirled and twirled around like in a washing machine
LUCKILY the guide tied a rubberband to attach my spectacles to my head beforehand
cuz I felt every loose item leave my body (my hairtie, my slippers)
Worst is that I wanted to ascend to catch my breath but the raft was right ontop of me and it was HEAVY!!
Im like jit bai see liao I’m gonna drown lol
Enjoy our struggling pictures below HAHA
There were lots of pebbles and rocks on the ground making it very slippery and painful to stand on
Owe the guide big time for pulling my life jacket and getting me out from under the raft
So while we were still trying to compose ourselves,
Another raft came and just langa everyone
Some even use gopro film our pathetic state lolol
WHAT AN EXHILARATING EXPERIENCE?!
I asked for excitement and got it
Out of us 4, three of us lost our slippers,
I lost my paddle together with another
Not even halfway through the journey we already lost the paddle
Poor guide have to paddle doubly hard to maneuver
Got people go raft til lost paddle one leh hahaha me lor
Took a break at the rest point!
Managed to see alotta scenic views and waterfalls!
Bruised shin from the capsize lol
As you can see from the image above,
right after taking this picture, I wanted to go nearer for a closer pic
SO I STOOD on that huge rock as seen on the bottom of the above image
Then i slipped and fell right on my bum infront of so many others
SO PRONE TO FALLING / INJURING MYSELF lol
Got to the 4 metres drop!
Our face totally cannot maintain
So unglam but soooo good
There was still a lot of stairs to climb to get to the wash point.
Lunch was included in the rafting packing but it was nothing to shout about.
Got back to the car barefoot
Ketut drove us to a random shop to get us some new slippers
My suggested itinerary on Day 2 after rafting was supposedly :
4. Ubud Art Market
5. Got time squeeze in Spa?
But we eventually skipped 1, 2 &3
cuz 1, we’ve seen the rice terrace at the rafting area
2, we’ve seen quite a number of waterfalls during the rafting journey
3, Ketut said that we could see monkeys for free the next day at Uluwatu Temple
So next up, we went to Ubud Palace!
Took us less than 30 minutes and we’re done with the Palace
Crossed the road to get to Ubud Art Market
Great place to bargain!
Bought two cute & quality ukuleles for Trev and Isaac for like 10SGD each!!
My BIL love at first sight with the middle finger monkey
after I sent an image over to them HEEHEE
Had a fun and great time bargaining with the friendly stall vendors
Ketut then drove us to another area in Ubud for SPA
He crazily picked up a random shovel and started digging into the sand
Unexpected move that turned out quite funny
He said he was just helping
So cute ah this guy!
We took the relaxation body massage and mask
supposedly 2 hours but we cut short to 1 and a half due to time constraint
so it was 1 hr of full body massage, 15 mins of mud mask and 15 mins of flower bath
Enjoyed the massage and mud mask
After washing the mud off my body
Become longkang water
It was already darn late by then
felt a little bad that Ketut had to “OT” cuz of us
but he didn’t rush us at all and brought us to a restaurant in Ubud for dinner
Bebek Tepi SawahJl. Raya Goa Gajah, Ubud, Bali 80571, Indonesia
Ketut told us its similar to the raved Dirty Duck in Bali,
cheaper but equally good
Tepi Sawah Crispy for me and Grilled for Alex
105K Rupiah (11SGD)
Queen King material hahahahaha
Drive from Ubud back to Kuta took close to 1 1/2 hours
By then already digest
and i had major cravings for PIZZA
So went to a random bar for beer and pizzzzzzzza
Checked out of the Kuta Beach Heritage Hotel and left our bags there.
Walked along the streets in search of breakfast!
Settled at Warung Damar for breakie
(right opposite Waterbom Park)
Bought our tickets at the counter
Were told that 2 rides are closed for maintenance
Hence they’re giving us a 20% discount on admission
Ticket pricing before discount : 490,000 Rupiah (51SGD)
So after discount was about (40SGD)
We were given 2 wristbands that will store credits
Can be used for making cashless payments
We took a regular locker 25,000 + 30,000 deposit (2.60SGD + 3SGD)
and rented towels 10,000 + 62,000 deposit (1SGD + 6.50SGD)
We could only use the gopro on 2 rides
Boomerang (turquoise slide) & Superbowl (orange slide) ^
We managed to go on every ride
Burnt lots of calories climbing countless fleets of stairs after every ride
Waterbom beats Adventure cove x 10000000000
My favorite was twin racer & FAST AND FIERCE
Twin racer image below
grabbed these 2 images from waterbom’s site
Looks like aiya not scary la
But its sooooooo thrilling!!!
The gravitational force gave me an ultimate wedgie hahaha
This SMASH DOWN really defies gravity
messes with your mind cuz they count down 3, 2 havent even 1 they open up and you go vertically DOWN
AND AND AND i’m duper impressed with waterbom park’s shower/changing rooms!
I’ve always dreaded showering at swimming complexes / outdoor showers in public facilities
CUZ the water is always so darn cold
But they actually have hot/cold showers! felt like i was taking a shower in a hotel bathroom
Its that good
Pre-arranged with Ketut to come pick us up from Waterbom at 230pm
Short drive back to hotel lobby to collect our bags and drove down to our next destination
Suluban Beach, Uluwatu
Super steep stairway leading to the cave and beach!
within the scenic Suluban Cave where it leads to a hidden beach!
A mystical view and experience
The number of steps we had to climb to get back up
After Suluban Beach, we drove down to Uluwatu Temple to check out the sunset!
Entrance fee : 20,000 Rupiah per person (2SGD)
Additional cost if you wish to catch the Kecak and Fire Dance
Had to put on a sarong for those in shorts above knee length
The view was magnificent!!!!
The monkeys there are scary as hell
I was like wah damn heng I eventually skipped the Sacred Monkey Forest on Day 2
Saw like monkeys stealing stuff from people ESPECIALLY SPECTACLES
Don’t need to expect to get it back
I became very paranoid after that
Worried for my specs hahaha
Sun almost setting!!
Spot the monkey side profile behind us
Truly in love with Uluwatu Temple!
Actually really scared i’ll fall back HAHAHA
Ending our trip to Uluwatu watching the sun set
Wanted to get some souvenirs and Ketut drove us to Krishna Oleh Oleh
Plenty of cheap but beautiful paintings!
Bought some small paintings, bath salt, soaps and left
Ketut then drove us to Seminyak,
where our villa is located.
Finally checking-in to our Villa with much anticipation!!
Was given a flower band (LOL) & welcome drinks
Totally pretending like we’re on our honeymoon hEEHEE
Berry Amour Romantic Villas
Jalan Batu Belig, Kerobokan, Seminyak-Badung, Bali, 80361, Indonesia
Berry Amour Romantic Villas is located in Seminyak and when I first laid eyes on the rooms seen online
I’m like THIS IS SO FRIGGIN IT
Seminyak Square is just 5 minutes away (drive not walk)
The villas are themed and we could select from 3 different themed Villas
Mystique, Desire & Temptation
Did a lot of research and though Mystique and Temptation sounds mad kinky (HAHA)
The lights looked pretty dimmed and I’m super scared dimmed lights will attract insects and mosquitoes
So I decided on DESIRE!
But fret not, I believe all the other rooms are great too! its very well kept and well maintained!
More on the booking!
Booked the villa direct.
Room type : Desire One Bedroom Villa w/ Private Pool (Honeymoon FUN)

Service staff were all really friendly and approachable.
+++ we had TOTAL privacy in the Villa!
Comes with a His’s and Her’s bag of amenities
Jacuzzi by the pool!
View of our Villa in the day!
Love the day bed, huge pool I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING
Just looking at this and I’m already thinking of going back for a longer stay
Only the gopro can picture the entire area
Dining area, Sunken Kitchenette!
AMERICAN BREAKFAST WAS MMMMMM SOOOO YUMMY
Plans were to head over to Finns Beach Club (@ Uluwatu, probably an hour’s drive up)
But we were smitten with the Villa especially only after checking in late at night the day before
So we decided to skip Finn’s cuz to and fro + chilling would take us a long full day
and t’was our final full day in Bali
Took a shuttle to Seminyak
With Shuttle, i was expecting a mini van sort of, and can only move off at scheduled timings
But it was more of a “hi, we will like to take the shuttle to seminyak square” and immediately the hotel staff drove us out in a car
Sisterfields cafe for lunch wasn’t really planned.
We were exploring seminyak by foot then we saw EH sisterfields so in we went
Got seated and were like HUH don’t know what to order zz
Alex ordered the signature Sisterfields Dirty Burger
& I, thai glazed pork belly
SUPER TINY but melt in your mouth Good
We both ordered smoothies and both were eeyuk hahaha
The total bill for the meal was quite ex too
Walked around Seminyak and customized some photo canvas prints!
Just haven’t found the frames to frame it up
Took a metered cab back to our Villa at night
Then we walked round the corner and got to Crab Bar!
Managed to find this place via google maps while researching
Place was pretty empty. MORE PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO COME VISIT!
Good ambience, pretty affordable price and really good food!
We ordered the CB’s Bag Hot, Boiled with Garlic Butter Sauce
(Can pick your preferred cooking method, and sauce)
495,000 Rupiah (50SGD)
DAMN GOOOOOOD and we felt like we wanted more!!
So we ordered a second round
250gr prawns 120,000 Rupiah (12.50SGD) & Corn 30,000 Rupiah (3SGD)
Walked back to our villa
Our bubblebath got a little out of hand HAHAHAHA
Laughed like a mad couple
So much fun with my crazy other half
Last day in Bali!
Packed and ready to go!
Early noon flight back to Singapore!
Another fun-filled, adventurous trip with my love!
Lots of memories made, laughters shared.
Bali is so rich in culture and scenic views!
So much more than just sea-sports, shopping, spa and massages
